This iteration of our Sessions series was held during Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s infamous Race Round. Noting the significance and popularity of racing in the region, we extensively researched locations to hold this event that would herald its history.
Working with Tim Moore, a Historian at the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, we tracked down the site of the old Boulder Racecourse, which had been demolished and converted into a residential complex. Part of this division included a secluded public park, which was the site we intended to use for the event. Unfortunately, high winds caused the relocation of the event to the Kalgoorlie-Boulder Racing Club, in the Bookmaker’s Ring.
This event featured music from local Brett Watchorn accompanied by Nick Costa, and Fremantle’s Josh Johnstone (trio).
